Can You Order Mural Wallpaper from Another Country?
Check measurements, currency, delivery address, production details, import considerations and installation planning for an international order.
Article focus: pricing and measurement
The cost and measurement decision
Start with accurate wall measurements; the final custom mural price depends on area, material and any finishing options.
Example application: Any room with a suitable, prepared wall · pricing and measurement
Can you order a mural from a country other than the one where it is printed? Yes, if the store offers a shipping service to your address. For Solowalls, a made-to-measure mural is produced in China and travels internationally after dispatch. The practical questions are whether checkout accepts your destination, what the order will cost after delivery and possible import charges, how long production and transit may take, and what to do if a custom-sized print arrives with a problem. Resolve those points before approving the wall dimensions and crop.
First, make sure the store serves your address
Do not assume that “international shipping” means every postcode is available by every carrier. Add the mural and enter the full destination address before you treat an order as possible. Include the recipient name, street and apartment details, city, postcode, country, telephone number and an email you monitor. A missing building number can delay a parcel far longer than a small difference between two carrier routes. If checkout does not offer a service to your address, ask the store before ordering rather than selecting a neighbouring country or an incomplete location.
The site's Delivery Information says that murals are made and shipped from China and advises checking delivery charges at checkout. A displayed product price therefore should not be mistaken for the final amount payable for an international delivery. Review the order summary in the currency shown, and check your payment provider's exchange rate or conversion charge if your card uses another currency. A currency selector changes how prices are displayed; it does not change the parcel's country of origin.
Make the custom specification unambiguous
International distance makes a preventable measurement mistake particularly expensive in time. Measure the wall width and height in the units requested by the product configurator, add the site's recommended approximate four inches or ten centimetres to each total dimension for installation trim, and check the previewed crop. Confirm the selected material and installation method. If an important part of the artwork must avoid a window, door or bedhead, resolve that placement before print approval. A made-to-measure mural cannot be treated like a standard roll that can simply be exchanged for a different width.
Keep a copy of the order confirmation and the crop selected at checkout, together with any separate layout the seller actually provides. If the seller emails a question about dimensions, crop, material or address, respond promptly. The site notes that a clarification can delay production. An order placed from another country is not inherently harder to print, but a time-zone difference can make an unanswered email consume a full business day.
For a room with a fixed installation date, make a small order record before paying: measured wall size, size submitted at checkout, chosen fabric, design crop, destination address and the email used for correspondence. A screenshot of the final review screen is useful if a later message refers to a different dimension. It also makes it easier to distinguish a print-specification question from a carrier question; the former belongs with the seller before production, while the latter may need the tracking number after dispatch.
The checklist below separates the decisions you control before purchase from the processes that begin after it. It is a planning aid, not a promise that a particular destination has a specific tax rate or delivery service.

Ask about landed cost, not just postage
Separate the product price, delivery charge and possible destination charges before comparing totals. Import VAT or tax, customs duty and carrier clearance fees are not interchangeable, and their treatment depends on the destination, parcel value and current rules. A converted storefront price or a shipping line at checkout does not by itself prove which import charges have been prepaid. Check the destination customs authority's current guidance and ask Solowalls which charges, if any, the checkout amount includes and who would collect the rest. Get an unclear answer in writing before committing to a large made-to-measure order; do not rely on an old low-value exemption remembered from a previous purchase.
For example, the UK's official guidance on goods sent from abroad explains that a courier or postal operator may contact the recipient about VAT, duty or delivery charges. US buyers can consult US Customs and Border Protection's import-fee guidance. EU buyers can consult the European Union's consumer VAT guidance and their national customs authority. These links indicate what to check; they do not calculate the charge for a particular mural, and import treatment can change after an article is published.
Build the two-stage journey into your plans
The delivery policy gives approximately six to eight business days for artwork review, printing, checking and packing before dispatch. Typical transit after dispatch is five to eight business days to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia, or six to twelve business days for other destinations. These are estimates, not a guaranteed combined arrival date. Customs processing, public holidays, severe weather, remote-area delivery and address problems can add time. Do not book an installer for the earliest possible day or dismantle a room before the panels have arrived and been inspected.
Production time and carrier time start at different points. A clarification about artwork details may shift the production stage; a customs request may stretch the journey after dispatch. For a project with a deadline, work backwards from the installation date and leave a buffer for inspection and any issue report. A tracking number helps you follow the parcel, but its first scan may not appear immediately after dispatch.
The blue mountain design below shows why the crop matters before an international order is placed. Its peaks could be lost if the wall size is entered incorrectly or the selected view is shifted. This is a flat design image, not a photograph of a shipped roll; compare the selected crop with your recorded wall dimensions before confirming the order.

Understand the position if something goes wrong
Inspect the outer package and every panel when they arrive, before cutting or installing anything. Photograph any damage, the label and the affected print, then contact the seller with your order number. The site's Refund Policy asks customers to report damaged, defective or incorrect items within 14 days of delivery and distinguishes those cases from a change-of-mind request for custom-sized or otherwise made-to-order wallpaper. It also says not to return a product without instructions. Applicable consumer rights in your location are separate from the store's wording, so seek local advice if there is a dispute.
If tracking shows a customs hold, use the carrier's official tracking page to identify the request and ask which document or payment is needed. Verify any payment demand through the carrier's published contact details, not a link in an unexpected text message. A customs query concerns entry into the destination country; it does not necessarily mean the mural was printed late or incorrectly. Give Solowalls the order number and tracking reference if the carrier cannot resolve the hold or the parcel stops moving beyond the stated transit estimate.
